Ever wanted to go on a whim? Bored [deleted by Blogger censorship services] this summer? Nothing to do except spend the whole day in front of your desktop, maybe head to the malls to escape the summer heat?
Why not dare yourself and go on a whim. And by "go on a whim", I meant going to somewhere far and exciting this summer. And why drag your family behind you? Test yourself by embarking on a journey, ALONE with only cash baon and your out-of-town survival skills to aid you. Not only you'll be having fun at the adventure, you don't have family members to restrict you. One of a kind summer experience.

It's getting dark - nightfall. The tricycle had dropped me off in the middle of nowhere. I'm trudging the lightless kilometric road, hopping from store to store trying to burn every contact in my cellphone. Survival meant constantly on the move; I'm backtracking the road to the main avenue. Civilization was the orange glow at the end of the road. I'm more than a hundred kilometers from home, all alone and now aimlessly lost.
I was looking for some cheap pension house. If I couldn't find my destination - at least I had somewhere safe to spend the night in without getting mugged. An electric fan is more than enough for my comfort.
It was an impromptu trip. That morning I learned of my teacher throwing a slametan - sae kapanganen. Only problem was that it was in Digos. Not to worry; I commuted solo to Davao last March. I was itching to go. Only problem that it was scheduled at 4 in the afternoon. My trip became an instant RON (Remain Overnight) mission.

the many faces of rapunzel
In celebration of the Russian New Year, May Day, I am digging up from my archives my collections of pictures from a real life Rapunzel - who is also celebrating her 14th birthday today, 01 May. As fitting tribute, I am showcasing the best (or worst) of my stolen shots of her - different faces from different angles - of an enigmatic friend.

Let me tell you of my story of a girl that has left me spellbound. Her name is Nidelli Sumalinog Vinson.

The Scream
The picture above, "The Scream" is one of my two masterpieces involving Nidelli. The other one, "I Got The Power", unfortunately got deleted by her in a tantrum when she got wind of it. Once she got hold of my camera, the masterpiece became history. But Nidelli's face there was imprinted on my mind forever.
